Linzi Hunter

Linzi HunterI’ve been a professional singer for about 35 years working in Theatre, TV, Songwriting and Session work. I now teach vocals and performance on one to one basis from home.

I started my career around the age of 16 in an all girl cabaret show called ‘Rock Follies’ which led me to some good work offers including tours with Sweet Sensation, George Mcrea, Racey, Hot Chocolate and other 70’s artistes… Around this time released a solo single on the Polydor label.

I then formed my own rock band which was spotted by Bill Wyman of the Rolling Stones. He managed the band for while and we performed at the Royal Albert Hall along side of some big names like Phil Collins, Chris Rea and Terence Trent D’arby. My band were performing our own material and went on to work on a project with Wyman and one of my songs reside on an earlier album of his. I’ve also sung backing vocals on his last album, entitled ‘Just For A Thrill’.

In 1994 I appeared on Stars In Their Eyes as Kate Bush which led to work offers including theatre and tv. In 2004 I started teaching at Middlesbrough college in performing arts. In 2009 i was featured as a vocal coach X Factor with a student. I have continued to work around the country with my 7 piece band, Casual Sax, and i now teach vocals and performance from home and hold workshops on performance and stage technique at the DORMANS club in Middlesbrough. I regularly put showcases on for my students, so that friends and family can come and see their progress. I continue to perform in several different shows in between teaching. I have massive experience in all fields of performing and can help students build confidence in both vocals and stage technique and find the right path to follow in the industry.
